GENERAL FUNCTION: Provide support to Retail and Business Banking relationship managers and
Business Banking Fulfillment Underwriters with regard to application completeness, credit analysis,
the communication of loan decisions and credit monitoring / portfolio reviews. On a limited
basis, underwrite and decision small business credit applications, both new and renewal, up to
$250,000. Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating
concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always
doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive
a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results
by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for reviewing and spreading financial statements based on information provided in
the loan request submission package or collect additional financial information from the LOB not
submitted with the application.
Collect and review all required collateral information.
Effectively communicate loan request information needs and structure with relationship
- On a limited basis, approve or reject applications based on defined criteria when applications
exceed standard underwriting limits for Homogenous Pool transactions.
Identify and communicate cross-sell opportunities discovered during the underwriting process.
On a limited basis, negotiate terms and conditions of credit requests with relationship
Responsible for preparing Portfolio Review Reports and Administrative Loan Status Reports.
Maintain a working knowledge of Bancorp credit policies, guidelines and procedures.
Responsible for performing Borrowing Entity PD Ratings and Obligation LGD Ratings.
Miscellaneous job duties as needed.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or economics preferred.
Minimum 1 year of credit analysis and/or loan review experience, preferably in the banking
industry, or an advanced business degree with a minimum of 1 year of business related
Must be proficient in basic software applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
Familiarity with the Bank's internal applications is a plus.
