The TM Product Manager will be responsible for owning and delivering the external developer experience and a best-in-class user front-end application with line of business product leadership, engineering, marketing, risk functions, and operations.

You will be delivering the critical foundation for Fifth Third’s embedded payments business . We’re already operating at scale and working with some of the world’s largest brands and most innovate fintech companies—and we’re just getting started. This role will provide the right candidate the opportunity to meaningfully shape the enterprise, drive impact at scale , and contribute to the evolution of the entire industry.

  • Design, build, and own the client-facing front-end experience – Work with product leadership, engineering teams and other functional areas to create and execute the developer experience product strategy & roadmap aligned to business goals. This is a “0-1+” and "1-100" type role.

  • Engage internal organizations, including engineering, infosec, sales, product management, account management, and implementations, to understand the business and technical requirements and use cases

  • Manage the ongoing buy-build-partner evaluation process; own the vendor and partner relationships and value creation from outside firms as needed to deliver strategy and business objectives.

  • Collaborate with product development engineering and program management organizations to ensure product requirements are translated into working software following the agile process,

  • Create User Stories and document product requirements; develop well-formed features specifications and acceptance criteria

  • Own and develop clear and concise product collateral in order to document the platform to inform and educate internal stakeholders and clients: e.g. product guides, integration guides, release notes, API reference docs, etc.

  • Be a client expert and advocate – Deeply understand and represent the needs of developers as clients, and enhance and improve integration experiences based on research, usability testing, conversion data, and client feedback. Quickly resolve client issues as the business partner to the engineering teams.

  • Influence and drive adoption internally – Act as thought leader and change agent to educate sales, product, and engineering leaders throughout the enterprise on the value of a developer platform for their business and influence them towards action, turning a developer platform into a new channel for product distribution across the enterprise.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify opportunities to broaden product feature/functionality and drive product development based on market and competitive intelligence.

  • Build business case for strategic investment and manage the ready-to-launch process including legal, risk and marketing plans.

  • Identify opportunities to expand product reach vertically (deeper penetration) or horizontally (expand value proposition) via working with Business Development.

  • Manages the execution/tactical steps of the product strategic initiatives - translating business requirements into functional specs, having on-going project meetings with technology on all new initiatives and providing documentation for Investment Proposal process, legal and credit. Obtains new product (New Business Initiative) sign-off.

  • Develops product-training materials for technical products. Provides detailed information required to train sales force and clients.

  • Conducts sales training and will help with technical sales on new product enhancements until local PSS is comfortable and takes over.

  • Compiles the financial data and analysis for the product line manager.

  • Gathers market data and client data through daily activities, direct client contact and industry conferences.

  • Supports sales on non-standard RFP's. Documents responses to questions that cannot be found in RFP database, or as required for large strategic deals.

  • Updates the annual pricing guidelines. Ensures all new pricing and product information is readily available to Sales on a Notes database.

  • Documents all set-up and operational requirements for new products and services.

  • Supports product line manager in all of his/her responsibilities.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Manages and develops product managers and on all activities related to the product line. Provides project management oversight on key technology initiatives. Management cycle including but not limited to sourcing, performance management, compensation, and career development.

    MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's Degree required , or commensurate experience

  • 5-7+ years’ experience in product management discipline.

  • Front end & Dev. Experience

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Strong project management skills. Understanding of the markets and clients who utilize treasury management products.

  • Has clear understanding of client/sales relationship issues (outside the product line) and understands how the product is linked/related to other services the client is purchasing from the bank.

  • Strong written communication skills.

  • Preferred: Operational/technical background. Clearly understands how new products and services impact technology and operations.

  • Understands how this will impact cost, complexity and reliability of the service.
