Building upon a rich history of innovation in the payments space, the Fifth Third Payments and Commerce Solutions division combines existing businesses such as Treasury Management, Commercial and Consumer Card and Currency Processing Solutions with resources specialized in developing innovative commerce-enabled solutions. This position can be based anywhere within the Fifth Third footprint.
GENERAL FUNCTION: Develops long-term product plans, focusing on customers, competition, profitability, product life cycle, and service considerations. Coordinates and leads the activities of cross-functional teams involving various business partners in the development and deployment of new products, product enhancements, and process or procedural improvements. Develops financial operating plans, projects profit and loss, and is charged with achieving annual sales objectives for assigned products or areas.
Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Bank's risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
# Responsibility of analytics insight, Voice of the Customer, organizational change management planning, launch planning, competitive assessments, and distribution strategy.
# Manage the overall P&L of the payments product suite to ensure that revenue and margin targets are being met and expenses are within budget.
# Establish and achieve annual growth goals and objectives for each product.
# Oversee the design and implementation of new payment products and services.
# Actively cultivate and manage relationships with key clients and internal business partners.
# Actively monitor industry trends; participates in industry forums, professional associations, conferences, etc.
# Actively manage the compliance and risk activities to mitigate risk and ensure regulatory compliance and positive client experience.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED:
# Bachelor's degree in marketing, finance or business; MBA preferred
# Seven to ten years experience in financial services product management
# Tenure with a large multi-regional bank or financial institution
# Certifications in Product Development (i.e. Pragmatic Marketing, PDMA), Project Management (i.e. PMI, PMI-ACP), or Payments (i.e. CTP, AAP) preferred
# Ability to interact with individuals at all levels with a professional demeanor and presence
# Excellent presentation and communication skills
# Ability to articulate and sell ideas throughout a large organization
# Working knowledge of the related areas of finance, information technology, risk management, legal, compliance, education, Internet banking, mobile banking, call center sales, marketing and analytics
# Ability to influence and negotiate with individuals outside span of control
